Beyond Silence: Cross-Cultural Conversations on Pelvic HealthEpisode 0 | Why We Started Video/Podcast link in the comments.

Why would two pelvic health specialists from different countries decide to create this series together? CC is a rehabilitation physician from Taiwan, specializing in pelvic rehabilitation.

Joy is a pelvic health physical therapist originally from South Korea and now practicing in New York, USA. Although our professional journeys have been very different, we share the same belief: education empowers people to achieve better pelvic health. In this introductory episode, we share:

• What inspired each of us to dedicate our careers to pelvic rehabilitation

• Why pelvic health remains a topic that is often left "beyond silence" for many women in Asia

• Why so many women still believe that urinary leakage, pelvic pain, or postpartum symptoms are simply a normal part of life

• Why both evidence-based medicine and clinical experience are essential for helping people make informed decisions

• What we hope to accomplish through this cross-cultural conversation series.

We believe that many pelvic floor disorders are preventable, and even when symptoms occur, conservative treatments—especially pelvic rehabilitation—can often be the first-line and highly effective solution. Through this series, we'll explore the latest research in pelvic health, highlights from international conferences, and clinical perspectives from different cultures, while helping build stronger connections between Asia and the global pelvic health community. Coming Up in Episode 1:

Joy shares her firsthand experience from IUGA 2026, the International Urogynecological Association Annual Meeting held last month in Brazil. We'll discuss some of the most important updates in pelvic health and pelvic floor rehabilitation, including new insights into childbirth-related pelvic floor injury and what they mean for clinical practice.
